Zhao Yongxin (born on August 25, 1988 in Kunming, Yunnan), better known by his nickname XiaoXin (Small Xin - 小鑫, in Chinese), is a Chinese singer-songwriter and occasional actor, He is the co-leader of Chinese boyband M.I.C..

Early life

Zhao is from the ethnic Yi. From his early years he learned to dance and sing the songs of his ethnic group. He also knows how to play the Hulusi, Guitar, Piano and Saxophone. At a young age he left his parents to study in Beijing, living with his father's friends.[1] He considers himself independent because of that fact.

When he was in high school he was discovered by Taihe Rye Music (北京太合麦田音乐文化发展有限公司) and began his training classes.

At the middle of 2009, as an M.I.C. member, he and the other members participated in Migu Star Academy (咪咕明星学院) on Dragon TV.[2]

6 months of competition on Migu (on March 26, 2010), M.I.C. won the Star Academy Finals.

M.I.C.

M.I.C. (or MIC男团) is a Chinese boyband, with 6 members, formed by Taihe Rye Music (北京太合麦田音乐文化发展有限公司).[3] The group consists of Wang Hao (王浩), YongXin (泳鑫), YaoYao (尧尧), Jianci (健次), YueHan (约翰) and Lu Jia (鲁佳), who left the group in 2010 for unknown reasons. M.I.C. made a commercial for the Chinese market with Korean girlgroup f(x), for LG’s Lollipop Cellphone.[4][5] M.I.C. also participated in the show Migu Star Academy, winning the show in March 2010.

On October 20, 2010, M.I.C. of five members debuted with their first EP Rock Star.

Acting

Yongxin made his debut with a little appearance on 阳光雨季 (piying: Yángguāng yǔjì) the movie is a popular drama about love, school and growing up.[4]
He also made an appearance in 2009 with others M.I.C. members (Wang Hao, YaoYao, Lujia and YueHan) on Yixin Gao’s movie CopyCat (盗版猫 - piying: Dao Ban Mao), the movie is a black comedy about the problems of music piracy.[5]
